Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in TV and film is well known for movies like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the world of show business early, and ended up acting in lead roles on various TV dramas before she reached the age of 16. Her highly acclaimed performance on the TV film that was made to air Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as that in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically highly successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the female diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in numerous notable projects in both the US and abroad. The most notable of these include British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon among others. The actress was also a member of the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
